WHERE WE ARE

Venice is only to be considered as made up of six historical sestieri, Santa Croce, Dorsoduro, San Polo, Cannaregio, San Marco and Castello, it should not be confused with the other Lagoon islands, much less with Mestre, Marghera, Zelarino, Favaro, Chirignago and the other mainland locations, which once composed the Venetian countryside and are now covered with cement and kilometres of asphalt.
Venice on the contrary is a maze of ancient pedestrian routes and canals crossed by bridges, where it is not difficult – and engaging – to get lost, but to reach our B&B is very easy and quick, even on foot.
Why then walking around with big bags and suitcases, looking for a taxi or being obliged to wait for a public means of transportation, if you can avoid all that? Moreover, we are in places that is not only very comfortable to reach but also among the richest in art and history and altogether well provided with food shops and supermarkets. A rare opportunity in Venice, that not many areas can offer.

Ada's House in Venice B&B is situated at only 5 minutes’ walk from Santa Lucia Railway Station and 10 minutes from Piazzale Roma Car Terminal. If you hate walking you can take a vaporetto (water bus) and get off at the very close Riva de Biasio stop (one stop from the Railway Station and two from Piazzale Roma). From here you can reach your destination without having to cross one single bridge. From the same pier you can also take the vaporetto to enjoy the view of the palaces on the Grand Canal up to St. Mark’s Square or the Lido, if you like.
But why not taking a nice walk? In Venice, without toiling, you can walk everywhere. Not forgetting that right in your surroundings there are a lot of wonderful things like for example the Churches of San Simeon Grando and Piccolo, of San Giacomo dell’Orio, of San Zan Degolà, of San Stae and the Scuola Grande di San Giovanni Evangelista.

From our B&B not only St. Mark’s Square is comfortably reachable on foot, but also the nearer Gallerie dell'Accademia, Palazzo Grassi, the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, the Ca’Pesaro and Ca’Rezzonico Museums. But if you want to avoid the museums, the churches and the crowed places, you can get lost in the calli, campi and campielli around your place, letting Venice herself to take you where she wants, silently telling you her millenary history.
